Paul Olson
Our youngest musician, 16 year old Paul Olson, began playing the classical guitar and performing at the age of 5. He has 8 years of classical and 3 years of contemporary training and studied with various teachers including Robert Gruca from The Cleveland Institute of Music. He has performed at numerous community events and recitals, including The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society. Paul has a strong mastery of both finger style and flat pick style guitar that enables him to play a wide range of music from classical to contemporary to classic rock. His extensive knowledge of theory and ability to improvise makes him a versatile well-rounded musician. Paul has performed professionally as a soloist and in local bands, including The Steve Cipriano Band, for several years. In addition to the guitar, Paul plays the clarinet and has consistently received number one ratings at OMEA solo and ensemble contests. He is currently a junior in high school and is a 4.0 honors student.
